Spelling

Review spelling words to prepare for your test at the end of the week. Use Spelling Frame Spelling Tiles and Sorting Segments to learn this week's words.

Main Activity

All lessons this week are working towards the writing the creative writing task for Assignment 9.

Explain to your student that today they will be looking at informal letters.

Display the powerpoint How to Set Out an Informal Letter. Read through the examples and, using the Informal Letter Checklist, encourage your student to verbally identify these features.

Now, using the Writing Informal Model Example Text ask your student to give each feature from the checklist a different colour and highlight these features on the model example.

At the end of the lesson, check your students understanding of what an informal letter is and how we can identify one.
