Today's Lesson

Spelling

For the remainder of Year 3 Part 2, use the Making Spellings Memorable resource to focus on this week's spellings:

Main Activity

Show your student the images of Romulus and Remus. Explain that these are characters in a famous Roman myth and are descendants of Aeneas and sons of Mars. Then look at the Romulus and Remus story, to page 10. Ask your student to discuss with you what they think might happen next and why. Then discuss what skills are needed for group reading. Ask them to use clues from the text to justify their answers.

Next, ask your student to read to page 20 of the Romulus and Remus story and discuss all the reading prompts from the resource. They can choose to write answers down, or discuss these with you as an ongoing discussion of the text.
