Today's Lesson
Spelling
Take the spelling test by asking your student to write the words they have been learning this week.
Main Activity
Remind your student what they have looked at so far this week (myths and Roman gods/goddesses).
Share The Gods and Goddesses of Mount Olympus resource (Gods extract). Review the gods that children have met so far. What do children know about them?
Explain that different gods appear in different myths, often interacting with each other and with humans. Gods have different personalities, areas of control and some have a particular role to play (e.g. Mercury as messenger).
Today, your student will be researching these gods and goddesses, producing fact files. Access the Roman God and Goddess Cards. Ask your student to choose one to research (remove Juventas & Ganymede).
Access the links below and Fact File Template, and any reference books about Roman gods. Your student should work to research their god and to present their findings using the Fact File template.
