Non-Chronological Reports

Objectives

To write a non-chronological report.

Resources

Blank or lined paper | Assignment 5

Today's Lesson

Spelling

Take the spelling test by asking your student to write the words they have been learning this week.

Main Activity

With enthusiasm, celebrate that today is the final writing day for Part Two. Remind your student how much they have worked towards this piece, ready to submit the assignment and complete the unit of work.

Recap the purpose of the report.

Ask your student to read through the draft they edited in the previous lesson.

Remind them, as this is the final piece, spelling, punctuation, handwriting and presentation are important.

Give your student time to write/type the final non-chronological report about the animal they designed. Encourage quality presentation. Take time; if needed have short brain breaks to avoid fatigue.

Assignment

Submit the final report, the edited draft, the planning, the diagram and the rubric as one piece for Assignment 5.
