PRACTISE - Spelling Frame

Introduction

Ask your student to remind you of what you covered in Lessons 1 and 2. You can look back at materials or your KWL chart if you filled one out. This is also a good time to add to the KWL chart if youโ€™d like.

Main Activit

Now that you know what key features are necessary in order to create an information leaflet, you are going to begin to design your own leaflet using the research you did on hedgehogs last week. Please note, for this piece of writing, students may choose to type their information booklet.

Say to your student: you should first plan how you will lay out your leaflet. Using the template, decide which headings, illustrations and captions will go where. This can be typed if you would prefer.

๐Ÿ“„ PREPARE - Leaflet Template

Then create a rough draft of your leaflet. Again, this may be typed. Encourage your student to look at the examples in the Sample Information Leaflets resourceย for inspiration. Do not worry about spelling, grammar or punctuation as these things can all be fixed when you edit.
