📄 Making Spellings Memorable | Edited rough draft of your myth | Student’s completed myth | A small audience! | Assignment 6

Today's Lesson

Spelling

Take the spelling test by asking your student to write the words they have been learning this week.

Main Activity

Today prioritise finishing the editing of your myth story.

Read through your edited rough draft of your myth. Once you are happy with it, write it out neatly, and include some illustrations if you have time.

If you have time, ask your student  to prepare and perform their myth. Note that myths were originally developed and shared orally.

Discuss: What makes a good reading? Discuss ideas to create a list of performance tips. Include ideas such as volume, tone and pace.

Your student should practise reading their myths by reading aloud. They should think about the performance tips as they read in order to evaluate and improve their performances. Challenge them to improve their reading each time.

Invite in an audience for your student to read their myth to. It would be lovely if this were a small group of familiar friends and family!

Remember to submit the plan, the edited rough draft and the final draft for Assignment 6.
