Today's Lesson

Main Activity

Now that research is complete, using the information your student has gathered, tell them they will use that information to create their own fact file. This fact file can be a poster or a leaflet.

To get an idea of what a good one looks like, please see the sample author fact file. Next, have your student create a rough draft of what their fact file will look like. Where will images, headings and research go? What facts will fall under which heading? Have you used capital letters where appropriate? Check over spelling. Read your fact file aloud to make sure you have not left out any words or added in unnecessary words.

Spelling

Use the Spelling Frame website to practise this week's spellings. Choose Match The Wall Spelling Game. Allow your student to work through each of the words. There may be other words they have not been learning. Students should try their best with the unknown words.
