Today's Lesson
Spelling
Review spelling words to prepare for your test at the end of the week.
Main Activity
Ask your student what they remember about the simple past and the perfect past tenses.
Please watch the following video that will re-cap prior learning of the present perfect and simple past tenses.
Now, access the Present Perfect or Simple Past Resource. Students will need to cut up the sentences and place them in the correct column. Once they are happy with the placement talk through the answers with them and move any sentences that are in the wrong place – talk about why they are in the wrong place. Then glue the sentences in place.
Challenge
Ask your student to select at least three sentences from the ‘present perfect’ column to extend and make more interesting by adding adjectives, adverbs and conjunctions. E.g. ‘The door has broken’ could become 'The wooden door has broken because I crashed into it with my new bike'.
