Today's Lesson

Spelling

Conduct the spelling test by reading out the words from Week 1, Lesson 1 by asking your student to write the spelling.

Main Activity

Take out the rough draft of your student’s fact file. Once again, your student should review to make sure they are happy with it. Ask - Have you used capital letters where appropriate? Check over spelling. Ask them to choose at least ONE sentence to improve, looking for capital letters, full stops and synonyms (a similar but more powerful/interesting word).

Say - Read your fact file aloud to make sure you have not left out any words or added in unnecessary words. Although you did this yesterday, sometimes it is easier to see mistakes once you have taken some time away from your work!

📄 REVIEW - Sample author fact file - Jaqueline Wilson

Your final step is to create a final draft of your fact file. This should be your most careful work. Take your time and be sure your final product is ePortfolio-worthy!

Add this to your ePortfolio on Canvas!
