Spelling
Take the spelling test by asking your student to write the words they have been learning this week.
Main Activity
Say to your student, today we will edit and improve your acrostic poem. Work with your student to ‘tweak’ his or her poem by editing. Encourage them to improve use of adjectives and verbs. Model how to think of alternative vocabulary by saying: I can use a thesaurus to find another word for sparkle! Let me cross out sparkle and instead I will write glitter.
Once you have completed the edits, ask your student to create a final copy of their acrostic poem and focus on handwriting and presentation. Consider including it in your ePortfolio!
