Today's Lesson

Spelling

Review spelling words to prepare for your test at the end of the week. Choose one of the Printables at the bottom of Spelling Frame (Links to an external site.) to practise this week's words.

Main Activity

Begin the session by recapping what you did yesterday. Show your student p11 (‘Find The Features’) of the Diary Writing Powerpoint and ask them to spot the features of a diary (they could use Recognise features of a diary sheet from Lesson 2 to help them remember what to look for, if necessary).

Explain that today, they will be planning a diary entry. Display P13 of the Diary Writing Powerpoint (‘Write A Diary’). Once they have chosen their animal, select the appropriate level of the Diary Writing Activity Sheet and complete the planning page. Encourage your student to talk through their ideas with you and write notes in the spaces provided.
