Main Activity

Turn to pages 24 and 25 in Year 3 CGP Comprehension Book. What is the difference between the two poems?Β  Which do you prefer? Try to encourage your student to identify which parts they like/do not like. You could explain your preferences for example, the last line of the second poem, "He's ready for his dinner,"Β  made me laugh because the lines before explained he was getting hungry.Β  I liked the advice of, "Ignore the welcome in his smile," as he isn't really smiling. Crocodiles look like they are smiling!

Ask your student to read the text on page 24, with your help if needed.

Ask your student to complete the questions on page 25, with your support as needed.

There are a number of comprehension tasks in the CGP textbook that your student has not yet completed. You may wish to complete these tasks with your student, before the course is completed, but this is optional.
