Spelling

Review or complete a spelling activity for the test to be taken during Lesson 5.

Main Activity

With your student, go over what an adjective (describing word e.g. dazzling), a noun (an object, e.g. a table), a verb (doing word e.g. play) and an adverb (describes the verb e.g. excitedly)  is.

Next, watch the video about adjectives and adverbs:

WATCH - Adjectives and adverbs (YouTube)

After the video, your student may benefit from playing the QUIZ: Adverb or Adjective? and/or looking at the other videos on nouns and verbs.

Ask your student to return to the acrostic poem you wrote together yesterday. Underline any adjectives, nouns, adverbs and verbs in different colours.

Now, read a poem of your choosing and identify the adjectives, adverbs, nouns and verbs. This poem can be from a book you have at home or one found on one of the websites you explored in Lesson 1.
