Spelling

Take the spelling test by asking your student to write the words they have been learning this week.

Main Activity

Spend some time recapping on the simple past and present perfect tenses, correcting any misconceptions or mistakes from this week’s lessons. Practise some sentences verbally, and then written, about a given action or event.

Grammar check

Turn to page 20 in Nelson Grammar Pupil Book 3 - Unit 8 Verbs. Work through the information in the purple box at the top of the page.

Ask your student to complete ‘Focus’, ‘Practice’ and ‘Extension’ on pages 20 and 21.

Then, access the Application Activity resource and ask your student to complete the task, to apply their understanding of the two tenses of present perfect and simple past by doing a short writing task.
