Today's Lesson

Spelling

Take the spelling test by asking your student to write the words they have been learning this week.

Introduction

Tell your student that over the next two lessons they will be publishing their newspaper article and sending it to their editor (tutor)!

Main Activity

Ask your student to read their newspaper article with all of the edits aloud one more time and double check for any errors.

Using the newspaper template (or your own, although make sure it has columns), write out your newspaper article. Remind your student that the editor will want the very best version of their work so they need to use their neatest handwriting!

Assignment

Complete Assignment 3.

Ensure the completed rubric, along with the edited rough draft and final copy of your writing, are submitted with your assignment.

Once the article has been written up, your student may like to have a go at the Pop Star Puzzle, which consolidates their knowledge of newspaper articles.
