Main Activity

For the next four lessons, think up various 5 digit addition sums to be completed orally, as the mental warm-ups.

Call out about five additions for each lesson.

For example:

52,754 + 150 =

Turn to page 28 in Abacus 4 Textbook 3.

Encourage your student to work independently to copy and complete the calculations on the page, using whichever method they find the most comfortable to work with.
