Today's Lesson

Main Activity

Turn to page 93 in Abacus 4 Textbook 1, and ask your child to complete the page as the mental warm up for the lesson.

Turn to page 19 in Abacus 4 Textbook 2.

Using the same method as in the previous lesson Ladder Method (YouTube), ask your student to copy and complete the multiplication calculations on the page. The problems are all multiplication and should be set out in the same way when your student is working them out. Choose one or two calculations to use both the grid and ladder methods, noting the links between the two.

Remind your child to include a sentence answer and any units of measure when solving word problems. Encourage your student to try to work independently.
