Today's Lesson

Main Activity

As for the previous lesson, for the mental exercises, again ask your student some time-related questions.

For example, conversion of analogue and digital times, 12- and 24- hour time, addition or subtraction of a variety of minutes from specific times.

Turn to page 64 in Abacus 4 Textbook 2.

Look at the calculations with your student. Point out that the number of digits and different numbers are not a problem. As long as each digit is in its correct place, and the sum is set out correctly, the calculation should be straightforward.

Ask your student to copy and complete the calculations on the page. Encourage them to tackle the problems independently.
