Main Activity
Turn to page 56 in Abacus 4 Textbook 1.
Run through activities 6 and 7 on Introducing Equivalent Fractions (MyMaths)
Using the work from the previous session, ask your student to answer the questions.
For questions 1 – 8, look at the fractions and discuss each one with your student as they work on them. Discuss what number the numerator and denominator must be multiplied / divided by.
For questions 9 – 15, divide the numerator and denominator by the same amount to give a simplified fraction.
Watch the ‘Simplifying fractions’ video, which was introduced yesterday, to recap if required.
