Today's Lesson

Main Activity

Turn to page 86 in Abacus 4 Textbook 1 and ask your student to complete the page orally, as a mental warm up.

Turn to page 12 in Abacus 4 Textbook 2.

By this stage, your child should be comfortable with subtracting multiples of 10. Recap using Subtracting multiples of 10 from 4 digit numbers (YouTube) if needed.

Ask your student to copy and complete page 12 independently.

Again, a reminder that students should not be using a vertical written method with ‘regrouping’ to solve ‘place value’ calculations such as these.
