Ask your student to recite two different times tables and to answer random multiplication and division questions on these.

Turn to page 80 in Abacus 4 Textbook 2.

Ask your student to complete the calculations in exactly the same way as in the previous lesson, using the compact column method for subtraction. Compact Column Subtraction (YouTube).

Do attempt the ‘Think’ activity at the bottom of the page. The reasoning involved in ‘missing digit’ questions like this is an important skill to develop in ‘mastering’ maths concepts.
