Main Activity

If your child does not know their 4 times tables, please learn the 4 times table throughout the course of this week, as the mental warm ups before each lesson.

Alternatively, choose an appropriate table for your child.

Turn to page 17 in Abacus 4 Textbook 1.

On squared paper, ask your student to copy and complete Q1 – 6 by writing the the ‘greater than’, ‘less than’ mathematical sentences from the top of the page. Point out that the thousands digits are identical in each inequality. Ask your student how they will know which is the larger number. Watch Comparing 4 digit numbers (YouTube).

For Q7 – 14 your student will have to work out the calculations first, then they will be able to determine which is the greater and which the lesser number.
