Main Activity

Ask your student to recite two different times tables and to answer random multiplication and division questions on these.

Turn to page 81 in Abacus 4 Textbook 2.

The numbers have all been written down horizontally, but they are to be copied and completed using the compact column method, just as in the previous two lessons.

If your student completes these calculations fluently and accurately, have a look at the calculations on page 83. Ask your student to explain to you what makes question 14 harder than question 1.
