Today's Lesson
Main Activity
Turn to page 46 in Abacus 4 Textbook 2.
In a similar manner to yesterday’s lesson, you will continue to use and find factor pairs of number.
If required, watch the ‘Factors’ and ‘Using factors to multiply and divide’ videos to recap.
Tip: At times you might be asked for factor pairs:
For example: Write the factor pairs of 10.
The factor pairs of 10 would be: 1 x 10 and 2 x 5.
At other times you might be asked to list all of the factors:
The factors of 10 would be: 1, 2, 5 and 10
The numbers are exactly the same.
Following the methods of the previous lesson, ask your student to attempt to copy and complete the calculations on the page. Make sure to sit nearby in case your student needs support and to ensure that they are completing the work correctly.
Note the importance of being able to rapidly recall multiplication and division facts.
