Ask your student to recite two different times tables and to answer random multiplication and division questions on these.

Turn to page 79 in Abacus 4 Textbook 2.

These calculations have been set out in the expanded column form. At this stage, your student should also be able to work the calculations out in the compact column form. Watch Compact Column Subtraction (YouTube) as a reminder if needed.

Ask your student to copy and complete the subtractions using the column method, regrouping where necessary.

Encourage your student to copy and complete the page independently.
