Look through the 📄 Golden Numbers Investigation and familiarise yourself with the task.
Consolidate
To practise recall of doubles, ask your student to access Hit the Button and practise doubles at whichever level provides the best challenge, e.g. to 10; from 5 – 15, etc.

Challenge your student to play each of these times tables twice through, beating their score on the 2nd go.
Introduction
Work through the 📄 Golden numbers investigation with your student.
Discuss as much as possible their thoughts and predictions before they carry out the activity.
Main Activity
Ask your student to carry out the investigation. Support them as necessary, but use this as a chance to observe how they tackle a problem such as this.
