Assignment
This lesson works towards Assignment 9. Please access the assignment for details about what you will need to submit to your Wolsey Hall tutor.
Introduction
Before you start the lesson, watch this Recap Video with your student.
To keep mental recall of times tables facts fresh, ask your student to access Hit the Buttonand select 10x tables, 5x tables and 2x tables.
ACCESS - Hit the Button (TopMarks)
Challenge your student to play each of these times tables twice through, aiming to beat their score on the second go.
Recap on the subtraction strategies with your student. Give them a beaded line or ask them to sketch their own blank number line, and then to solve two subtractions similar to those already solved this step.
Assess their confidence and skill in carrying out the subtractions.
Main Activity
Access Assignment 9 and ask your student to work through the tasks as independently as possible. They should record their jumps onto the beaded lines in the first task. In the second task, use extra beaded lines if needed.
Note: Once the assignment has been completed, please submit it to your Wolsey Hall tutor.
