Today's Lesson
Main Activity
Explain that in these two lessons, your child is going to plan a presentation to teach a family member or friend everything they have learned about electricity. Then they will present it. Start by using a mind map to note your ideas and key words. This is an example of a mind map.
This presentation should include a practical demonstration of your choice, for example: how to make a simple circuit or how to include a circuit in a model. It also needs to include:
- Where electricity exists in our homes (battery and main electricity);
- Dangers associated with electricity;
- Adding a switch.
Ideas to help:
- Take photos and include it in a PowerPoint or Word document/leaflet;
- Make a video of what you made;
- Notes written on cards with to help remember the main points.
Use the correct vocabulary - circuit, electrical conductor, electrical insulator, buzzer, mains, battery, wires, motor, bulb.
