Today's Lesson

Main Activity

We have seen that cities in richer and poorer countries have problems. Some of these could be solved by making cities more sustainable. Do you know what that means?

05 no hat.pngRead through the worksheet Sustainable Cities with your student and then ask them to complete the written tasks.

During the next lesson, for their next assessed piece of work, your student will be designing an advert for a new sustainable city. Have a short discussion about the kinds of things they might like to include in a new city for the future.

Watch the Masdar City Welcome Video together now, and ask your student to start to make notes on what their city will be like. Remind them to think about the three elements of sustainability - people, the environment and the economy.

Challenge Activity
