Main Activity

3c.pngAsk your student, what do you remember from the last two lessons? See if they can describe the different layers of the earth and why the tectonic plates move around. Can they remember the names of the three types of plate boundary?

Read pages 14-15 of the Volcanoes and Earthquakes Study Book.

Now, use the information to complete pages 14-15 of the Volcanoes and Earthquakes Activity Book.

Next, ask your student to use the Volcano Cut-Out Model sheet to make their own model of a volcano. Ask them which of the features that they have learnt about so far can be found on the model?

Challenge Activity

2a.pngIf your student likes and plays Minecraft, challenge them to build an accurate volcano in their world. They will need to think carefully about the features they want to include before they start.
