Today's Lesson
Assignment
Read the Assignment 1 instruction sheet with your student. This piece of work will be assessed so you can also look at the Mark Scheme together before they start for more detail on how to achieve high marks.
Ask your student to complete the map. Make sure they do not rush, and that they plan their symbols and the size of various features before they start drawing. Don't worry about the co-ordinates grid for now - if they ask about it, explain that we will be going on to that during the next lesson.
Challenge Activity
Could your student hide more than one piece of treasure? Are there any other secret features they could add to their map, such as a secret tunnel connecting the cave to the village? If so ask them to draw them on the back of their map.
