Today's Lesson

Main Activity

Give your student some time to create their Woodlice Video Diary. Remind your student to concentrate on what the woodlice are doing, where most of them are settled, what they seem to be eating and anything else that surprises them.

Extra Challenge

As an extension, students could design on paper a woodlice city, bearing in mind the habitat features they prefer.

Apply

To finish, ask your student what our observations tell us about where woodlice like to live? How could we use our knowledge to encourage woodlice to live in our garden or outdoor space?

Ask: ‘Do woodlice make good pets? Why? Why not?’

Quiz

PRACTISE - Step 6, 7 and 8 Quiz

*All quizzes on this course are optional, they do not count towards your student’s grade.  If you decide to do them, they are a chance to explore your student's understanding of different topics.

If your student finds reading tricky, you can read them the questions.

If your student is unsure of an answer, talk with them about their ideas.  You can also look back at previous lessons together.*
